Miss Rizk wore a green outfit lavishly embroidered in gold consisting of a halter and hot pants. The first runner-up was Toni Suzanne Reyward from Sydney, Australia. Rounding up the rest of the finalists were Miss Finland, Pirjo Laitila from Helsinki who was second runner-up,
followed by Miss Puerto Rico, Beba Franco from San Juan, who was third runner-up and Miss Brazil, Eliane Parreira Guimarães from Rio de Janeiro who was fourth runner-up. Other award winners were Miss Philippines, Vida Doria from Manila, who was chosen by the press photographers as the most photogenic among the candidates and Miss Mexico, María Luisa López Corzo, who won the best national costume.
Georgina Rizk was born in 1953 to a Hungarian mother & a Lebanese father. Georgina married Ali Hassan Salameh, a Palestinian militant with Black September, in 1978. Salameh was killed on January 22, 1979 in Beirut by a car bomb planted by Israeli security forces as part of the Operation Wrath of God campaign, in response to the Munich massacre in 1972. Georgina did not attend the 1972 Miss Universe Pageant in Dorado, Puerto Rico to crown her successor, instead Marisol Malaret, Miss Universe 1970, did that honor for her due to Lebanon's restrictions to allow their citizens to travel abroad for fear of terrorist retaliations.
Georgina Rizk is currently married to renowned Lebanese singer Walid Toufic.
