The Following is the original up-to-the-minute coverage of the 2006 Binibining Pilipinas Pageant written exclusively for the NJBP Forum by Mengay.

The program started with the usual montage of pictures of beautiful Filipinas, celebrities and past beauty queens. Video clips of last year winners and the coronation of Miss Quigaman as Miss International.
The stage was a simple one, this year with fewer steps and three big video monitors mounted on the wall.
The ceremony kicked off with a dance number. Candidates were presented by batch, Batch 1, Nos. 1- 12. They introduced themselves through the big videos. They appeared garbed in striped trenchcoats and did some dance steps, Batch 2, Nos 13-24 introduced themselves, appeared on stage in striped trenchcoats, did some dance steps. They were then joined by the first batch for some dance steps, then took the same coat off to reveal bra and skimpy skirt attire. More dancing and singing while the video screen on the wall went on repeating the introduction portion.
Last year winners appeared, Gionna Cabrera, Precious Carlene Aguilar and Lara Quigaman. The latter was obviously given a special introduction.
Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo and Pia Guanio introduced themselves as the hosts and as the anchorwoman for the evening.
The candidates came on singing the BB Pilipinas theme and dancing to the music with some elaborate hand and body movements.
Swimsuit portion followed. The presentation was just like the previous years. The candidates vital information could be heard and flashed on the screen. The videotaped portion was taken by the poolside. Onstage, the candidates were wearing light blue one piece swimsuit.
Some interview portion conducted by Ms. Cabrera and Mr. Trillo with candidate Nos. 2 and 7. Miss Quigaman was interviewed by the anchorwoman.

The officers of BPCI and members of the panel of judges were introduced. There were some ambassadors, businessmen, a movie star, an officer of BPCI, Ms. Yunon and the chairman of the board. Ms Guanio then interviewed 4 past winners, Isabel Lopez and Maricar Tolosa were two of them.
The evening gown ensued with the candidates wearing the creations of Cumbia. There was nothing new in the format: the candidates descended from the stairs; the slow pace that went with soft music; and the final formation to face the crowd. The slow motion images of the candidates flashed on the video screens while the candidates were walking onstage proved to be very effective.
Mr. Trillo interviewed Ms. Aguilar, while waiting for some candidates backstage. No. 17 was picked and was interviewed, the same with No. 24.
The candidates were onstage while video footages of candidates showcasing their talent were shown. Miss Talent was announced.

It turned out that there wouldn't be any final question at all. The finalists would be gauged on how they answered during the interview.
After the interview portion, another musical number and the finalists were serenaded while in their evening gowns.
The traditional farewell walk of the BB Pilipinas 2005 winners followed.
